City & Guilds Pesticide Qualifications cover plant protection products – these include insecticides, fungicides and herbicides. If your job involves applying pesticides in a commercial role then you are legally required by the Plant Protection Products (Sustainable Use) Regulations (2012) to have achieved a Certificate of Competence in the method of application you are using.
Pre-requisites: 0216-49 Award in the Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides (PA1) must be achieved prior to undertaking any other Pesticide qualification. This can be the City & Guilds award or the equivalent through another awarding body. Please note - a training attendance certificate is not a qualification.
